CA ARCserve Backup supports Microsoft SQL Express, offering a more scalable database and providing advanced database management tools in order to keep the database under a manageable size. It also supports catalog indexing, which eliminates the need to load/merge the catalog file into the database and reduces the database in size and usability.

- Improved Disaster Recovery Security. CA ARCserve Backup supports FIPS certified AES 256 Bit encryption and hardware based tape drive encryption to provide users with a safe and secure method to protect the information that will reside outside the company for disaster recovery purposes.
